Today a mini-review. I'll be looking at MOC-30664 Custom RC 42110 Landrover Defender. This MOC is from the outside the same as the 42110-1 Landrover Defender, but underneath, PowerFunctions are added that make the model remote controlled. What I am most curious at, is the performance. The Landrover is not a small or light model. Will the 2 motors be enough to power the car?
Two motors, tracks and a remote control. Seems simple enough. Does this equal FUN? Or do you need more?...
In a first, a LEGO model had preceded the real life model. Pictures of this set appeared before Land Rover was able to announce their latest model. There has already been a lot said about the color. Let's judge the rest.
The largest Technic set ever, with the largest amount of motors, all controllable by an app. But also the most expensive. Is it worth the money?...
This week we have a Blast from the Past! The classic (that word makes me feel old...) 8868-1 - Airtech Claw Rig from 1992. This was one of my childhood dreams. But my budget was limited. By the time I saved enough, the 8480-1 - Space Shuttle came out. And I was a big space geek at that time. This week, the 8868-1 finally arrived. Come join me!
If you are a LEGO Technic fan, and perhaps, even if you are not, you must have noticed the incredible media campaign surrounding the introduction, on June 1st, 2018, of LEGO's latest and largest super car, Technic set 42083, the Bugatti Chiron. In the six weeks since that introduction, I have read or watched fifty or more reviews of this super set, and almost all of them, I am sorry to say, got it wrong. They review this set as if it were a regular Technic set; in other words, you build the set as fast as you can, and then you evaluate how good it looks, how good it functions, and how good it plays.
Madoca's Icarus Supercar is a 1:10 scale model of the McLaren P1. Madoca says it's heavily inspired by the McLaren, due to some small differences, but it looks damn close to me.
The 42054 Claas Xerion 5000 Trac VC is one of the three new Technic sets released in the second half of 2016. It's quite a large set at just under 2000 parts but still only half the size of the 42055 Bucket Wheel Excavator. The Claas Xerion really stood out to me as a quite unique build.
The 42053 Volvo EW 160E is one of the three new Technic sets being released in the second half of 2016. It is also based on the pneumatic system v2 which don't come along too often....
The much anticipated (at least by me) set Bucket Wheel Excavator 42055. When this monster was announced, I knew I had to get him. Especially the new gear-part 24121 looks like a great addition to the Technic collection. I’m expecting a new wave of MOC from it. Let’s see if this set can meet up with the/my expectations.
