Alt #4 for 31034 - Flying Car
This is my 5th entry in the April 2018 competition :)
The inspiration is, of course, Back To The Future (whose theme I used in the attached video) and S.H.I.E.L.D flying cars as depicted in the comics and a bit in the TV series Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D . Also, the abundance of both wheels and joints in this set.
Features:
- Wheels really roll, and are aligned perfectly so that the car can function as a car.
- Each wheel is situated on its own joint and they can be turned to face downwards. Each is equipped with an engine (repulsor?) as evident by the blue energy.
- Jet Engine on the back.
- Minifig scale, including control handles - but no cup holders, despite my sincere efforts.
- Not a flying toy.
The car is huge relative to the minifig, but I'm thinking this is actually plausible in an actual flying car, as opposed to sci-fi representations. The engines driving the under-jets must be massive, since the car has no wings to provide lift.
Both of the wheel sections are connected using the Technic pins, so it is an interesting build and a sturdy one.
PDF instructions tested on me. Enjoy the build and the movie, leave a comment and have a great day!
