4506 Monster spider

Much of the design had been set up in my head already before I started working on this model. I was not sure yet how it would work out but I had a good hunch that the concept and dimensions would be just right. That hunch proved to be quite right. This models has exactly the size and shape as I had envisioned it. The main differences are in the details. The body turned out a bit patchy to make the connection with the legs work out. Fortunately the four large corner slopes cover much of it from view. The tail section is not as smooth as I would have wanted it but this was bound to be limited as I knew I didn't really have the sloped bricks to make a nice fit. Nevertheless I am very satisfied with the result. This model looks like a proper spider (with some funny extra details). Of course it is hard to get a decent color scheme but I think I made it quite nicely. The only downside is that the legs (even though there are six of them) are not strong enough to hold up the body. For display or playability this fortunately does not give any issues, so I am fine with it. A good model.

Thanks. With a fairly complex creature like a spider you don't know at the start if you can make it work out, so I was very pleased to succeed so well.
